7.21.17
Below are Maya and Zoya. These ladies are two of four believers in their village of Stanevo, who meet each Sunday, despite hardships, and despite not having a pastor to lead them. Maya owns a farm and a dairy. Last year she fell from a hay wagon and broke her foot, yet continued to direct her farming business. She has the added trouble of having to deal with local mafia who force her to sell her milk to them at a low price. Zoya told us her testimony. She worked in a small store and one day some money went missing. She did not take it, but she was so desperate to get out of their small village that she was looking forward to being put in a far away jail. But her family put together the money and saved her. After this, she was still wanting to leave, but she believed that this was God’s way of telling her to stay in the village and start a church – which she did. We long to get to Bulgaria and visit and encourage such souls as Maya and Zoya, and others like them, who seek our Father and His ways!

The pastor on the spiritual frontline in Bulgaria confronts all sorts of enemies. In many cases that enemy is poverty. Pastor Nicholas shepherds a church in a southern region among predominantly Roma people. Because most of them do not have full-time jobs, when summer comes, about 2/3 of the congregation leave Bulgaria for jobs in surrounding European countries. Nicholas maintains the church in his town despite the difficulty of maintaining any particular church member. He just does not know when the members may leave, or when they may return. Nicholas, however, maintains his faith in God, and remains in his call from God. Please pray for Nicholas and his church, that the Lord may make a way for the believers to remain at home and that they may be a bright shining light in their community.

5.2.17
This is Rumen and Venera. They serve as church leaders for the Baptist church in Vasilovtsi, Bulgaria. They have no problem telling everyone they meet about Jesus who changed their hearts. Please pray for them as they lead the church; right now there is no pastor there.

We had a successful trip to Bulgaria this summer!
